For high school students who want to get ahead, the 向上的束缚 program is an excellent choice. The 向上的束缚 program of Virginia Highlands Community College serves qualifying students enrolled at Chilhowie, 霍尔斯顿, 诺斯伍德, 帕特里克•亨利, and Virginia high schools.
是什么 向上的束缚?
向上的束缚 provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. 向上的束缚 serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of 向上的束缚 is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
Students must meet specified income guidelines and/or be a potential first generation college student, 是美国人.S. Citizen, and have completed the 8th grade in order to apply. Applicants will need a referral from the school guidance office and show potential for college acceptance. Selected applicants will participate in a personal interview before being admitted. Students must also be enrolled in one of the high schools we serve.

- Participate in cultural field trips, college visits, program workshops, and 夏季学院

- Motivated and willing to accept challenges and desire to go on to college after high school
